Directly funded by contributions from town centre businesses and funding from the local authority, the Great Yarmouth Business Improvement District (gyBID) has delivered a range of initiatives aimed at making the town centre a safer and more attractive place for people to live, work and visit for the last ten years.

The purpose of this website is to outline some of the key areas that gyBID has focused on, to provide information on what gyBID will be focusing on over the next five years and also to invite feedback on all of the progress made to date.

On the 25th February 2016 a ballot of town centre businesses on whether to renew the Great Yarmouth Business Improvement District (gyBID) for a third five-year term resulted in a majority voting 'YES'. The ballot, which was carried out by Great Yarmouth Borough Council, saw a turnout of 38% with 86.4% voting in favour of the BID proposals by number and 94.32% by total aggregate rateable value of the votes cast. The successful ballot reflects the support of businesses for the initiatives and projects, including the team of street wardens, delivered by the Great Yarmouth Town Centre Partnership on behalf of gyBID. The BID will continue to be managed by the Town Centre Partnership, a not-for-profit company who have been active in managing the town centre since 1997. The latest report on the how the funding raised by the gyBID has been used in delivering its aims can be found on the Documents page.
